Why a reflective surface matters

A white membrane reflects more solar radiation than a comparable dark surface. Effects on comfort and consumption also depend on insulation, the building and its use. A white colour is therefore not a promise of a specific reduction in energy bills.

Check requirements for the right address

Montréal lists procedures for flat and low-slope roofs by borough. Consult the information for your building before confirming the covering. Changes to insulation, structure or appearance can affect the process. The quote should identify who handles checks and approvals.

White does not replace proper drainage

The membrane needs to be part of a coherent assembly. Water drainage, drain connections and welded seams remain essential. We use a 60 mil membrane for TPO projects; the full assembly depends on the deck condition and the building’s needs.
